Biomechanical Assessments

A biomechanical assessment, also known as musculoskeletal assessment, is usually undertaken to look at the the way that we walk and function. This could indicate if there are specific muscle weaknesses that can benefit from exercise therapy, either prefabricated or custom orthotics or if there is need for additional referrals.

Some of the foot and ankle conditions that a Biomechanical assessment may be helpful for are:

  • Bunions

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Mortons neuroma

  • Hallux limitus

  • Big toe pain

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Arch pain

  • Ankle pain
