Corns & Callus
What are corns & callus?
A callus is a yellowish area of skin that becomes hardened due to higher pressures to an area. Corns are thickened and sometimes uncomfortable circular type lesions commonly confused with verrucae. They have a denser centre and are usually found under the feet. They are the result of mechanical trauma from friction or higher pressure to an area. Poor footwear, foot deformity and gait problems are some of the reasons why corns and callus develop.
