Fungal Nails

Fungal nails can be tiresome and stubborn to manage. Commonly along side fungal nail infections, there may be fungal skin infections that possibly started initially.

Treatments:

  • Nail fenestration - this entails drilling small holes into the nail to allow antifungals to penetrate the deeper layers of the nail.

  • Topical antifungals - If these are used correctly alongside regular thinning down of the nail, there can be a dramatic improvement in the quality of the nail.

  • Reduction of the thickness of the nail for comfort and cosmetic appearance.

Nail Care

Trauma to the nails, infection and systemic diseases may cause thickening and discolouration of the nails. Thickened nails can be challenging to cut and may cause discomfort due to the additional debris and weight of the nail.. Mobility issues due to age or other reasons may prevent you from managing your nails.

Treatments:

  • Routine nail care

  • Fungal skin and nail treatment

  • Thickened nail reduction

  • Foot care advice

  • Callus and corn removal

  • Nail cut and file
